Piper Warrior PA-28-161

An example of a Piper Warrior PA-28-161

A workhorse of the skies, Piper Warrior is the model used by us for initial training, for PPL(A) and LAPL(A) licences. Here are its main benefits:

For our commercial students

By beginning in a Piper Warrior you will start and complete your flight training in the same environment. Apart from the instrumentation and some obvious differences (gear and propeller levers in an Arrow, twice as many levers in a twin Seminole) from day one to your final test you will learn in virtually the same cockpit. Standardisation is one of the key issues in commercial training.

During the training, a four-seater offers invaluable opportunities to back-seat someone else’s lesson – and that’s free learning, something virtually unheard of in aviation!

For our non-commercial students

Compared to smaller two-seat Cessnas 150/152 and Piper Tomahawks, the Warrior is both a good trainer and a nice tourer. You will learn from start in the aircraft you will later want to fly with your family and friends. A marginal difference in hourly cost will soon be compensated by not having to do familiarisation training before whizzing off on your own. A slightly faster Warrior will also take less time to get to the local flying area, so you will be able to complete your exercises in shorter time. The back-seating comment from a paragraph above also applies.
