Our fleet

Westwings Flight School operates a standardised fleet of training aircraft in order to maximise the training benefit for customers. From the first lesson in the air to the last skill test a student is exposed to the same cockpit layout, with minor changes necessitated by progression of the training:

  • Piper Warrior PA-28-161
  • Piper Dakota PA-28-236 (+ variable pitch propeller)
  • Piper Arrow PA-28R-201 (+ retractable undercarriage)
  • Piper Seminole PA-44-180 (+ second engine)

The aircraft for early stages of training are fitted with classic, analogue avionics, while the multi-engine Seminole used for ME/IR courses features a Garmin G500 suite coupled with a Garmin GTN650 touch-screen navigation box. This is to emulate the glass cockpit likely to be encountered by our graduates in their first airline job.
